TIRUCHY: Miscreants looted a whopping 90 sovereign jewels and cash of Rs 70,000 from a house at Woriyur in Tiruchy on Wednesday. Senthil Nathan (39), an engineer was working in Abu Dhabi while his wife Kanimozhi has been residing at his house in Ramalinga Nagar near Woriyur. For the puja holidays, Kanimozhi went to her maternal house at Sirkazhi on October 1 and returned late on Wednesday. On arrival, Kanimozhi was shocked to see the lock in the front door tampered and she went into the house and found that 90 sovereign jewels and cash of Rs 70,000 missing. Soon she informed police who conducted an inquiry. Investigation with the help of sniffer dog Ponni was made and finger print experts lifted clues from the spot. Police also found that the miscreants had removed the hard disc of the CCTV camera. Subsequently, the CCTV footage from the nearby houses were retrieved for investigation.
