CHENNAI: State Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan on Monday mocked former Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami by saying that he does not have any idea about administrative procedures.

"Palaniswami when he was the Chief Minister and the leader of opposition in the state Assembly was stable. But after the split in his party, he has become disturbed which is evident from his statement issued on Sunday.

Palaniswami, in his statement, said that the Andhra Pradesh government is trying to construct a reservoir across river Palar and made some harsh comments against the state government alleging that the ruling DMK government is a "sleeping government".

Duraimurugan said that making comments against the State government is easy, but the words cannot be back.

He also said that the issue of constructing water reservoirs is pending in the Supreme Court and the State government will take appropriate action.

Duraimururgan further said previously when political parties raised the issue that Andhra Pradesh government is trying to construct a dam across river Palar in Ganesapuram and Chief Minister MK Stalin visited the spot but found that there was no sign of construction of dam in the area.

Duraimurugan said that EPS does not know any administrative steps regarding the construction of a dam and added that words once uttered could not retraced.

The Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister, Edappadi K. Palaniswami had lashed out at the Tamil Nadu government’s silence in the reported statement of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.

The Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister also said that the reported statement of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister was only from news report from a public function attended by him.
