With 2,390 active cases, city continues to report highest Covid count

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 538 new Covid cases on Sunday. Total number of cases in the State exceeds 35.80 lakh. Chennai reported 110 new cases, Chengalpattu had 51 cases, Coimbatore 35 cases, and Tiruvallur had 30.

TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) is at 3.2% after 16,354 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Ranipet reported highest TPR of 6.8%. Meanwhile, active cases in the State stands at 5,395 with the highest number in Chennai – 2,390 active cases. A total of 492 people recovered, and total recoveries crossed 35.36 lakh. With no new Covid fatality, death toll remained at 38,046.
