Post dental treatment, tiger gets boneless meat
The tiger, which has been kept at Manombolly forest guest house in Valparai in Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR), is likely to be monitored by doctors for a few days before releasing it back into its natural enclosure.
COIMBATORE: Tiger, ‘ANM T56,’ which was operated after it lost its upper canine, is being monitored closely by veterinarians in Valparai.
“The tiger is doing well and is absolutely active. It was fed with meat without bones,” said a Forest Department official.
The tiger, which has been kept at Manombolly forest guest house in Valparai in Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR), is likely to be monitored by doctors for a few days before releasing it back into its natural enclosure.
“It was quite a long treatment as it took nearly around five hours to complete the procedure. After three or four days, the animal will be examined by taking an X-ray. It is a complicated operation performed smoothly,” added the official.
The tiger was rescued as a cub with sharp quills of porcupine pierced in its body on September 28, 2021. As part of re-wilding the cub, the tiger was released into the natural enclosure on June 6, 2022.
