Woman dies by jumping into well after killing 2 kids in Dharmapuri

COIMBATORE: A 27-year-old woman committed suicide along with her two children by jumping into a well in Dharmapuri due to family dispute on Tuesday.

Police said Lakshmi (27), wife of Manikandan, a farmer from Marandahalli took the extreme step along with her four-year-old son Prasanth and six-month-old girl baby Latha due to frequent quarrels with her husband.

Following a similar quarrel on Tuesday, Lakshmi left the house with her two children. As she did not return for a long time, Manikandan had called up her father-in-law to check if she had gone to her parent’s house. However, they informed him that she didn’t come there.

Later in the evening, Manikandan had gone to his farm, where he was shocked to find the bodies of his wife and children in the well. On receiving information, Marandahalli police along with fire service personnel came to the spot and retrieved their bodies and sent it for post-mortem.

The Marandahalli police have registered a case and further inquiries are on.
