485 kg of gutkha worth Rs 7 lakh seized, two arrested in Tiruchy
The team which was searching at Woraiyur conducted a raid in a house at Kavalkaran Street owned by M Gopi (28) and seized 485 kg of gutka worth Rs 7 lakh.
TIRUCHY: City police seized 485 kg of gutkha smuggled from another state and arrested two persons in this regard on Wednesday. On a tip City Commissioner of Police G Karthikeyan alerted the police officials who organised vehicle inspections. The team which was searching at Woraiyur conducted a raid in a house at Kavalkaran Street owned by M Gopi (28) and seized 485 kg of gutka worth Rs 7 lakh. The police arrested Gopi and based on his confession, arrested K Senthil (34) from Thennur.
