"Good changes are bound to happen before 2024 elections": Sasikala hints at future in politics?
She was removed from the General Secretaryship of the party in a resolution adopted in 2017.
CHENNAI: Former AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's confidante Sasikala has said her political future solely rests upon the party's functionaries, and not on any individual's whim. "If someone has the support of partymen and Tamil people, they can't be chased away from politics," she added.
She exuded confidence saying "good changes" are bound to happen before the Parliamentary elections in 2024.
Sasikala was removed from the post of General Secretary, that was held by Jayalalithaa till her demise. A resolution for the same was adopted by AIADMK's general council on September 12, 2017. The move was approved by the Election Commission upon submission.
A representation, from Sasikala, was kept challenging the party's decision at the Chennai civil court. The civil court on Monday observed that the removal of Sasikala is valid and dismissed the plaint.
