Pudukottai: Man gets death penalty for matricide
Pudukkottai court on Friday awarded death penalty and fine of Rs 50,000 to a man for murdering his mother over property dispute.

Anand (34), of Maravakottai had been demanding his parents to transfer their properties to him. His mother Thilaka Rani did not want it. On March 18, 2018, while Thilaka Rani was waiting for a bus at Maravapatti, Anand picked up a quarrel and severed her head in full public view. He then surrendered.
