‘Ryots will teach AIADMK a lesson for backing laws’
DMK treasurer T R Baalu on Saturday said the farmers of the state will teach a lesson to the ruling AIADMK for supporting the three farm laws of the Centre to escape from the corruption cases.
Condemning Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for ‘lying’ that the three farm laws were present in the DMK’s poll manifesto of 2016 Assembly poll, Baalu said the CM has not read the 54 agriculture-related promises of the DMK manifesto, including hiking of MSP for paddy, waiver of farm loans of small and medium farmers and continuation of free electricity for farmers.
Asserting that the three farm laws supported by AIADMK imposes contract farming and denies MSP, Baalu said that Palaniswami was the only CM in the country to speak in support of the farm laws, which have created nationwide unrest, to escape prosecution in corruption cases by central agencies like ED and CBI.
Farmers of the state would teach a fitting lesson to the AIADMK during the election for supporting the farm laws, Baalu added.
