Left parties on Tuesday announced that it would hold an indefinite road roko starting December 4 in solidarity with the protesting farmers in Delhi over the new farm laws. A joint statement issued by the state secretaries of the CPM, CPI and CPM-L Liberation said that the indefinite road roko would be held in the show of support and solidarity with the agitation farmers and also urging the Centre to withdraw the new farm laws as demanded by the farmers. “The agitation would be held in front of the Central and the state government offices at the headquarters of the districts, taluk and block from December 4,” they said. “AIADMK government has betrayed the farmers by passing the bills in the state assembly as well,” they said. On Tuesday, CPM and CITU members picketed the Central government offices across the state, including Shastri Bhavan in Chennai over the farmers’ issue.  They said that Narendra Modi government instead of addressing the demands of the protesting farmers’ but unleashed brutal repression on them.
