AIADMK IT wing gets proactive in promoting cyclone relief works by CM and party cadre

With five months to go for the Assembly polls, the AIADMK is releasing several short video awareness projecting Palaniswami, the CM candidate of the NDA alliance in the state. The footage of AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam is also added in these videos.

The campaign, “Manasu Ellam EPS,” is like a jingle with the background music of famous Tamil movies and there is also the voice of actor Rajinikanth stating that this is just a trailer, the main picture is yet to come. The public relation exercise, includes public voice thanking the CM, which is visibly edited without any critical inputs. These videos also project the party symbol “two leaves.”

When contacted, AIADMK IT wing secretary (Chennai zone) Aspire Swaminathan said that the party has set up war rooms in Chennai, Madurai and Thanjavur to get online traction. We want to repeat the 2014 and 2016 election results and the IT wing will intensify its campaign in the days to come. We have a target of expanding the IT wing with one lakh members who will increase the mobile campaign penetration, Swaminathan said. When asked about the target audience and the reach analytics, Swaminathan said some are confidential, but we have established a platform that can focus on gender and age-specific population. Geographic specific voters and the public can also be reached, he said.

The coming elections will see an intensified digital campaign among the political parties and 70 per cent of our digital infrastructure is ready. WhatsApp will be a crucial platform for the political parties in the fray, Swaminathan added.
