“Stalin should stop pointing fingers at the government in everything and rather take efforts to sit at least in the row for the Opposition benches in the Assembly after the polls,” he said in Salem.

Calling Stalin as a hero of statements (arikkai nayagan), the Chief Minister said that the DMK, which does no good to people, will never ever come to power in the state.

“Stalin should give constructive ideas rather than just blaming the government and issuing false statements against Ministers,” he added.

Stating that COVID-19 has been under control in the state due to efforts of the government, Palaniswami said, the opposition parties then faulted the government by comparing it with the infection scenario in Delhi and Kerala. “But now the spread has been more in those states. Whereas, the rate of infection has come down gradually in Tamil Nadu due to the efforts taken by the government,” he said.

Stating that the AIADMK government has led the state in the path of robust development with maximum number of industries being set up even during the outbreak of COVID-19 since March, the Chief Minister said that Tamil Nadu has recorded the highest GDP of eight per cent among other states. “The state has also been a frontrunner in education, health and agriculture,” he added.

Accusing that the NEET was brought by Congress when DMK was in its alliance, the Chief Minister said that 1,650 students will get a chance to study medicine with the start of 11 new medical colleges across Tamil Nadu next year.

The Chief Minister inaugurated 86 completed projects at a cost of Rs 123.53 crore, laid foundation for 44 new projects at Rs 118 crores and distributed welfare aid to 6,832 beneficiaries at 46.39 crore in Salem district.
