“Private schools should not coerce parents to pay 35 per cent more fees and they should be given adequate time to pay,” he said to the media in Gobichettipalayam in Erode district. The Minister’s statement comes a day after the Madras High Court allowed private schools to collect 35 per cent more fees apart from the 40 per cent already permitted to be collected for the current academic year. The Minister also warned private schools against conducting special classes before reopening of the institutions.
