Two injured as miscreants hurl country bombs at Thanjai eatery

Muthukumar (47) from Karanthai near Thanjavur has been running a fast food stall and on Monday around 10.45 pm one Venkateshwaran (24), a private bank collection agent and resident of Ramapuram came there to have dinner. At that time, two persons, who came in a two-wheeler hurled country bombs at the eatery shattering the glass cupboards and injuring both Muthukumar and Venkateshwaran. While the owner Muthukumar sustained a minor injury, Venkateshwaran, who sustained serious cut injuries across his face and body was rushed to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital. He was stable now. In the initial investigation, police found the bomb to be a hand-held country bomb and they collected samples from the eatery. Meanwhile, police also took the CCTV footage from the area, registered a case and are investigating.
