Stalin raps Centre for allowing separate test for AIIMS PG admission

Describing the exclusive entrance test announced for PG medical admission in the 11 Centre-run medical institutions and allocation of examination centers for Tamil Nadu candidates for the test in far off Andhra as the “height of injustice,” Stalin said that another injustice and discrimination has been meted out by fixing Rs 2,000 as application fee for OBC candidates and Rs 1,500 for EWS among forward (unreserved) castes.

Recalling the submission of the Centre in the Supreme Court in the NEET case that it was conducting a common entrance test for the whole nation, including AIIMS like institutions, Stalin said the Centre should immediately scrap NEET, which was introduced as a test common for the whole country, now that it has allowed the 11 Central medical institutions to conduct their own entrance tests. “Why this contradiction? How will the Constitutionally guaranteed reservation for the whole country differ for central and state government institutions?” he asked.

Asking the Centre to allow PG medical admission in Tamil Nadu on the basis of 69 per cent reservation without NEET, the DMK president urged Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to immediately write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard keeping in mind the concessions announced for the 11 Central institutions.
