Now, track status of application on Tangedco portal

To make online application filing for new low-tension (LT) service connection and addition/reduction user-friendly, the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) would allow its consumers to check the status of their application and also file grievances through an online portal.

In the latest instructions, the utility’s distribution director said that changes have been made to the new LT service online portal and application tracking module (https://nsc.tnebnet.org/nsconline/) to show the status of the application in each process -- from date of receiving application to service connection effected date to the applicant — on the online portal. “Unwanted changes or entry in the application tracking will reflect on the status page. This will also show the probable date of service connection to the applicant in the portal after entry by the assistant engineer of the operation and maintenance (O&M) as ‘mere’, ‘minor’, and ‘major’ after inspection, based on the norms,” said the instruction. Consumer would be informed about application status through SMS as well. “As SMS will be sent during each stage of application like registration, inspection, when the estimate has been sanctioned and on effecting of service connection. The field officials should be cautious when entering data in the system as the same will trigger an immediate SMS to the consumer. Any wrong entry will reflect on the image of the Tangedco,” it added.

In case of delay, consumers would be able to raise grievances on the portal, which would reflect in the concerned AE (O&M) Consumer Complaints Monitoring System login. “The AE has to take suitable remedial action and reply can be sent from the CCMS portal,” the instructions said.

The consumers can give feedback – good, satisfactory or not satisfactory – online after effecting service connection. “All the field officials have been instructed to adhere to the new provisions made in the new LT service online portal and application tracking module for the betterment of Tangedco and the consumers without any deviation,” it noted.
