AMMK pep talk to party workers ahead of Assembly polls
With just six months to go for the model code of conduct to come into force in poll-bound Tamil Nadu, the rebel AMMK led by RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran has set the election process rolling well in advance when compared to the Dravidian majors the DMK and the AIADMK.

The party which started its district secretaries meeting on Monday continued the poll-related meetings for the second consecutive day. AMMK treasurer P Vettrivel along with headquarters secretaries N Manoharan and G Senthamizhan interacted with the district secretaries and enquired about the party’s preparation in connection with the upcoming polls.
According to AMMK insiders, the party leader Dhinakaran has asked the members to intensify the poll works and enrol new cadres into the party.
“Do not mind about the feasibility of AIADMK- AMMK merger or about the release date of our leader VK Sasikala. Chinnamma will soon come and will take a call on the merger and alliance, but irrespective of these factors the party should be strengthened before the end of this year,” an AMMK district secretary who attended the meeting told DT Next.
The district secretaries were also instructed to start identifying the booth level workers and start the poll works in advance when compared to the other Dravidian majors.
The state and district level functionaries are also given targets and the poll preparatory works will soon be reviewed by the party leader TTV Dhinakaran, the source said.
“We are hoping for the early release of Chinnamma and there is high friction between AIADMK leaders OPS and EPS. We are focusing on few AIADMK dissents and they will join AMMK by next month,” said an AMMK headquarters source.
