While denying bail to Kalailingam of the outlawed armed group Tamil Nadu Viduthalai Padai for plotting a bomb blast at the then Union Minister and current Puducherry CM Narayanaswami, Justice Kirubakaran made strong statements on religious and lingual freedom.
He said some outfits and parties in the guise of Tamil Nadu and Tamil language's liberation are trying to cause restiveness and anxiety, the governments (state and central) must ensure language as personal freedom and that it doesn't stoke any unease.
Justice Kirubakaran warned of the two-pronged sectarianism, religion and language, urging people to resist all such forces that thrive on divisiveness.
India giving 22 languages the official status is enough proof to disprove people whining their language has been sidestepped, he said.
Further he said that non-Congress parties coming to power since 1967 stands witness to the prominence of Tamil language.
