    Parents and relatives of the student who killed self on Wednesday in Ariyalur after the Supreme Court dismissed pleas to postpone the NEET exam, refused to get the body and have been protesting.

    Trichy DIG Annie VIjaya and IG Rangarajan arrived at the spot late Wednesday night and spoke to the family. The family stated that they would not end the protest unless their demands were met.

    The relatives have demanded the Government to not conduct the NEET exam in order to end suicides among the students.

    They also demanded that the Government provide them Rs 50 lakh and employment for a family member.

    Villagers and political parties have joined the protests. Police officers have been deployed in the area for protection. DMK party members are organinsing a silent rally as a sign of support to the grieving family. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court dismissed the pleas filed to postpone the NEET exam.
