MK Stalin affirms DMK will come to power in the next 8 months

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's general council meeting took place on Wednesday in Chennai. The party unanimously elected senior DMK leader Duraimurugan as DMK's General Secretary and TR Baalu as party Treasurer in the council meeting.

In the meeting, DMK president MK Stalin affirmed that the party will come to power in the next 8 months. He further stated that the late DMK leader M Karunanidhi would have been very happy to see Duraimurugan and TR Baalu rise to superior positions in the party. 

Stalin said that Duraimurugan is a superstar, who has been in the assembly for about 9 times. He added that Duraimurugan and TR Baalu have worked hard for many years to rise to superior position in the party. 

"TR Baalu and Duraimurugan have been with me and DMK party members in the prison during the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA)," said Stalin. He further stated, "TR Baalu has been a member of Lok Sabha for 6 times and has served the Ministry 3 times. He is someone who will not hesitate to sacrifice his life for the party".   

The DMK President further stated, "Senior DMK leader Duraimurugan's General Secretary position was previously held by CN Annadurai, VR Nedunchezhiyan and Anbazhagan, while TR Baalu's position of the party's Treasurer was held by M Karunanidhi. I wish Duraimurugan's kindness and Baalu's strict nature would help in party's development in the near future."    

He added that the newly elected administrators of the party should utilize all their talents and hard work for the party's welfare and development.
