Dindigul District Collector Vijaya Lakshmi has announced that tourism activities will resume in Tamil Nadu's hill town Kodaikanal from Wednesday. The popular hill station was shut down for months, owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Collector stated that identity proof is necessary for tourists within Dindigul district. She further added that e-pass is mandatory for tourists coming from other districts of the state.

The Tamil Nadu government eased some of the lockdown restrictions recently. As a part of concession, the government allowed metro trains in Chennai to resume operation. It also allowed the operation of inter-district passenger trains in the state.
Though the government has squashed the e-pass system for inter-state and intra-state road travels, it has made e-pass a mandatory requirement for visitors to Ooty, Nilgiris, Kodaikanal and Yercaud.
