Tamil Nadu has reported 5,890 fresh Coronavirus cases on Friday, according to the bulletin of the state's health department. The total infected numbers have reached 3,26,245 in the state now.
The state saw 117 Covid-19 fatalities in a single day. The total number of death toll stands at 5,514.Â
Chennai recorded 1,187 new cases today. The city is seeing a mild rise in Covid cases after a brief gap. For the past few days, Chennai saw less than 1000 cases per day. However, the count is seeing an increase again.
The other districts have registered 4,703 new covid cases in the past 24 hours. Chengalpet has detected 437 covid cases, while Thiruvallur saw 495 fresh infections. Â
A total of 5,556 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in the state today, following covid treatment. The overall active cases in TN now stands at 53,716.Â
