Both the Railway Board and the Trivandrum division have been utilising railway junctions at Kanniyakumari and Nagercoil as dumping yard for undertaking cleaning and maintenance of trains, which are only beneficial to Kerala, P Edward Jeni, secretary, Kanniyakumari District Rail Users Association (KDRUA) said on Tuesday.Â
He also added that many passengers from Kanniyakumari district look forward for introduction of additional trains from Kanniyakumari and Nagercoil junctions through Madurai towards any part of India or via Konkan region to reach Mumbai faster on a daily basis.Â
Further, KDRUA has sought the railway authorities to increase the frequency of once in a week Kanniyakumari-Dibrugarh (15905/15906) Express Train into a daily service.Â
