Tamil Nadu reports 119 Covid-19 deaths in single day

Tamil Nadu has detected 5,880 fresh Coronavirus cases on Friday, according to the State's Health Department.

The total Covid infections in the state has reached up to 2.85 lakhs now. Chennai city has recorded 984 new cases, a substantial decrease in numbers compared to previous weeks. The other districts apart from Chennai has recorded 4,896 fresh Covid cases. 

Chennai has been seeing a low in new Covid infections in the state, while the other districts are seeing a sturdy rise in cases. 

About 119 patients have died today in Tamil Nadu due to Covid-19. The state has been seeing 100+ fatalities in past few days. The total number death toll in the state has risen to 4,690.
