TN's covid count today has just crossed 5K

The total number of positive cases on Wednesday has gone to 5,175 including 40 passengers of other states and countries.

Capital city Chennai's daily count is gradually on the fall with only 1,044 today.

The contagion that was wholly centered around Chennai and neighbouring districts of Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallar has in recent times became sparsely distributed among even those districts that was registering single digit positive cases.

Fatalities have gone to 112 with the total being 4,461.

On a positive note the number of discharged is 6,031 totalling to 2,14,815 till date.

Another assuring fact is that the active cases is only 54,184, roughly a fourth of the discharge numbers.
