Widow poisons 3 kids, ends life

The three ill-fated children are admitted to Devakottai Government Hospital and two of them have been referred to Sivaganga Government Medical College Hospital. Police inspected the house and held inquiries. They suspect property related dispute to be the reason behind the incident.

Devakottai Assistant Superintendent of Police R Krishnaraj said the deceased Periyadharshani consumed rat poison after poisoning her three children R Parvatha Varthini (16), R Thiruneelagandan (14) and R Jai Harikrishna (10). A handwritten suicide letter was found in the house that read ‘nobody else is responsible for my suicide.’

The investigation team is examining it to check whether it was her letter. Inquiries are also on to check whether the suicide has been abetted. Parents of the deceased have not raised any suspicion. It may be noted that four months ago, her husband died of heart attack. A case has been filed.
