Private schools advised to apply online for tuition related recommendations.
Tuition fees for private schools in Tamil Nadu are fixed every three years. To determine these fees, a Fee Setting Committee headed by a retired Chennai High Court Judge has been set up by the Government of Tamil Nadu. This office is located on the DPI campus.

In this context, the Tuition Fee Setting Committee for Private Schools has advised that the new tuition fees will come into effect for about 6000 private schools which have completed three years of tuition fees. Schools are also advised to apply for the recommendations on the Fee Setting Committee's website from the 20th.
Information has been sent to 6000 schools through the respective district primary education office.
Accordingly, private schools are required to record details of tuition fees charged so far, including tuition fees to be raised in line with current expenses and expected tuition fees.
The Fees Committee will then call the school administrators in person, review their recommendations and determine the new tuition fees for the next three academic years. These new fees will be determined before school starts in the coming academic year.
Each time tuition fees are restructured, they are raised by at least 15 percent over existing fees. Fees are raised up to a maximum of 25 per cent for large schools with various infrastructure facilities.
Therefore, it is said that tuition fees may be raised by at least 15 percent this time around.
