Salem has most containment zones in state
In the wake of rapid spread of COVID-19 in the state, number of containment zones too have increased from 703 to 1,089, in a week.

A Government Order (GO) said that there were 1,089 containment zones across the state as on July 3. In the list, Salem had overtaken Chennai with 184 containment zones when compared to 158 in Chennai. Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai have 84 each followed by Madurai with 75 zones. However, till last week, Chennai had more such zones. As on June 25, Chennai had 104 zones compared to 84 of Salem and in the last one week 100 such zones have been added to Salem.
