AIADMK begins to strengthen its IT wing
To counter the political strategies of DMK and I-PAC, the political consulting firm that the opposition party has engaged, the ruling AIADMK is all set to upgrade its IT wing and also seek the expertise of political strategists – including one who had earlier worked with the DMK. The party is also planning to revive and revitalise youth wing, women’s wing and Ilam Paasarai in two months.

A team under Sunil Kanugolu, a strategist who worked for DMK president MK Stalin till last year, is working on strategies for the AIADMK. Though the ruling party has not confirmed this officially, Sunil is often spotted with top AIADMK leaders according to sources. His associates are also working on poaching experts from I-PAC.
The party had on Friday expanded the newly formed Tiruchy IT zone, with B Vinubhalan as the zonal secretary. According to AIADMK sources, the new zone would comprise Tiruchy, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai and Nagapattinam districts.
“Coimbatore and Madurai zones were given more weightage as these regional satraps have direct access to party joint convener Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and convener and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts will come under Coimbatore zone. The Chennai zone will cover only Chennai city region,” said an AIADMK source,
The AIADMK also appointed Dairy Development Minister KT Rajenthra Bhalaji as the Virudhunagar district in-charge. In a joint statement, AIADMK convener O Panneerselvam and joint convener Edappadi K Palaniswami asked party cadre to extend their full support to Bhalaji with immediate effect.
