EPS never lends ear to Oppn's suggestions, says Stalin
Leader of Opposition MK Stalin on Sunday slammed Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for not paying heed to the advice of the Opposition and asked the latter to not celebrate before eliminating the coronavirus.

Summarily blaming the CM for the current state of affairs in the state vis a vis COVID-19, the LoP said Palaniswami, who has not made any constructive move to prevent virus spread, is visiting Tiruchy and Coimbatore to inspect projects which fetched him money. “I have only one last advice. Do not celebrate as if you had succeeded in eliminating coronavirus.
Celebrate after you eliminate it.” Criticising the CM for accusing him of not making valid ‘suggestions’ to the government on coronavirus prevention, Stalin said the CM would not have had the raw courage to question him, if his statements were read thoroughly. Claiming that all his statements had suggestions to the government, the Leader of Opposition said, “I thought he (CM) does not have the intention to implement the suggestions made in the statements. It is now evident that he is unable to even comprehend the suggestions made by others.”
Listing out the various suggestions he had made, including suspension of Assembly session and closure of TASMAC shops, the Stalin said that he had reiterated enforcement of lockdown efficiently, but the government has made a mockery of it continuously. “Will Koyambedu be not sufficient to suggest that CM lacks foresight? I had suggested insulating two zones from the remaining zones in Chennai Corporation. If they had not done it, six zones in the city corporation would not have been so badly affected now,” Stalin said.
Asking what evidence does the CM have to claim that the DMK togetherness campaign contributed to virus spread, Stalin said the hunger of people has been addressed to an extent only because of his campaign and that they do not need coronavirus to politicise as the corruptions of the AIADMK ministers were sufficient.
Taking exception to the CM’s statement attributing virus spread in Chennai to population density, the DMK president cited Dharavi example and said, “I had suggested the same for Chennai in May. But, all that the CM knows is tender, commission and collection.”
