Tamil Nadu Covid-19 cases cross 2,500 for fourth day in a row, 2,865 fresh cases recorded
Chennai city has recorded 1,654 fresh cases, the highest in the state.

Tamil Nadu has recorded 2,865 fresh COVID-19 cases today, again contributing a big chunk to the National Covid toll. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 67,468.

Thiruvallur has recorded 87 cases, while Chengalpattu has recorded 131 cases today.
A total of 33 people have died due to Covid-19 infection today, taking the death toll of the state to 866.
Madurai and Thiruvannamalai has recorded 97 and 52 cases respectively.Â
Notably, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has announced today about the termination of transportation between districts and zones in Tamil Nadu from tomorrow until 30th of this month. He has also hailed the efforts of health care workers in TN, for their hard work which has resulted in low death rates in the state. He has also stated that Tamil Nadu conducts higher number of Covid-19 tests than any other states in India. Â
The CM has also announced that ration card holders in Madurai Municipal Corporation and surrounding areas will receive Rs.1000 from the government. He added that, e-pass is mandatory for inter-district commuters.
The CM has requested people to come forward to take Covid-19 test after developing symptoms, and that mobile Covid testing vehicle is moving around the city, testing as many people possible.
