Chief Minister district collectors meeting today

"Following Chennai and its neighbouring districts, Madurai, the state government is likely to implement complete lockdown in other districts as people from Chennai are continuously migrating back to their native districts. After the meeting a decision to extend complete lockdown in other parts of the state is likely to be finalised," said sources in the Secretariat. Meanwhile, the officials were in talks about implementing complete lockdown in districts such as Vellore, Ranipet, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai and Cuddalore since majority of the unorganised sector labourers working in Chennai were from the five districts but the final decision to implement lockdown was handed over to the Collectors.
