Not informed of quarantine: Salem flyers
The flight services between Chennai to Salem resumed after a gap over two months on Wednesday.

As many as 56 passengers including two children flew down to Salem from Chennai. Upon landing in Salem, the passengers were screened and swabs collected for COVID-19 testing. The flight left Chennai at 7.25 am and reached Salem at 8.20 am and flew back at 8.50am with about 48 passengers to reach Chennai at around 9.50 am. The take-off timing at Chennai has been advanced from the earlier 9.50 am following demands from passengers.
Following check-up, the passengers were quarantined until COVID-19 their results came. The passengers claimed that they weren’t informed in prior about the institutional quarantine for them to have come prepared.
“As we are coming after a long gap, our family members had come all the way to take us home. Due to last minute announcement on the institutional quarantine, they left disappointed. Also due to long delay in carrying out screening works, the passengers had to skip their breakfast,” said a passenger.
