Assembly session curtailed, to end today
The current session of the state Assembly will end on Tuesday instead of March 31 as announced earlier in view of coronavirus, Speaker P Dhanapal said on Monday.

As per the original plan, the session was to continue till April 9. However, it was cut short to March 31 due to the outbreak of coronavirus. On Monday, it was decided to curtail it further to Tuesday.
The early end to the Assembly session comes in the backdrop of the Opposition DMK and its allies demanding suspension of the session in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
As their requests were not accepted, the DMK and its allies, the Congress and IUML, announced boycott of the session from Monday.
