Pondy CM thanks Archbishop
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Friday met the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore, Antony Anandarayar, and thanked him for positively responding to the request for taking steps to avoid gatherings in churches.

Talking to newspersons here, the Chief Minister said the Archbishop was informed of the urgent need to prevent gatherings to tackle the coronavirus and was apprised that the poojas in temples and Friday prayer in mosques were cancelled.
Responding to this, Anandarayar directed the churches under the Archdiocese to cancel Sunday mass till March 31 and also all other programmes.
He said the faithful could pray in their houses as a family and the fathers of respective churches could conduct Sunday mass without gatherings.
