Muslims decry lack of teaching staff in Urdu medium school
Members of the minority community in Pernambut are incensed over the total lack of initiative on the part of education authorities to provide a headmaster and a teacher to the Urdu medium school in Muslim-dominated Pernambut town.

Revealing this to DT Next, Pernambut Consumer Welfare and Protection Society president T Basheeruddin said, “No action was taken by the Vellore CEO despite even Tamil Nadu Minorities Commission Deputy Chairman Jawahar Ali talking to him personally.”
“The issue pertains to the 80-student Urdu medium primary school at Tharaikadu in Pernambut which was started through a GO dated 23/5/2018 by the state government. At the same time, 20 Tamil medium primary schools were also started and all were provided with teachers,” says teacher Saud of Pernambut.
“What irks us is that when the Urdu medium primary school in Mohammedpuram in Tirupattur district was closed, the HM from the closed school was deployed in a school at Puthagaram in Jolarpet panchayat union by demoting the already existing headmaster in the Puthagaram school, when he could have been posted to Tharaikadu,” said headmaster Nasrullah.
Elaborating, Basheeruddin said, “when the Urdu medium primary school in Kalavai panchayat union in Ranipet district was closed, the headmaster could have been shifted to Tharaikadu, but was instead made the HM for a Tamil medium school nearby.”
In flagrant violation of the existing rules, a teacher from an aided school in Pernambut town was deputed to the Tharaikadu school when he could be sent only to another aided school, Basheeruddin added.
“Though we have been highlighting this issue to the CEO for the last three years, no action has been taken resulting in the 80 students of the Tharaikadu school suffering for want of a permanent HM and an assistant HM. Even when Jawahar Ali spoke to the CEO, the latter promised expeditious action, but till date nothing has moved while the children continue to suffer.”
