All three pending samples tested negative in State
Three passengers, who were kept under isolation in Tamil Nadu have tested negative for coronavirus. The State Health department has informed that all the passengers have been discharged from the hospital after the results.

“Three samples were sent for test after the passengers showed symptoms of coronavirus on Wednesday. All three have tested negative. The passengers have been discharged from the hospital after the results. Till now 54 samples have been taken from the passengers and sent for testing at King Institute of Preventive Medicine (50) and National Institute of Virology (4),” said Director of Public Health, Dr Kolandhaisamy.
“The samples of all 54 passengers are processed and negative for coronavirus infection. The health status of the passengers under observation in home and hospitals are stable,” he added.
In Tamil Nadu, till date 96,729 travellers are screened at the airports of Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Coimbatore. A total of 1,292 passengers, who are put to isolation at their homes, are being followed up for 28 days for any changes in their body condition.
“The public are advised to adhere to health advisories issued by the State Government. The public should follow the cough etiquette by covering the face using a handkerchief, towel while sneezing and coughing. They should also do frequent hand-washing with soap and water,” said Dr Kolandhaisamy.
