Responding to a question from reporters after presenting the shadow budget prepared by his party here, he said,  “let Rajini start a political party, then let us see what he says, what his party’s ideology is and then we can see.”The question was raised in the backdrop of Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam leader Tamilaruvi Manian claiming that the actor would launch his party in April this year and that he would ally with the PMK for the Assembly elections due in May next year.

On Manian not ruling out possibility of PMK and Rajini coming together for the Assembly polls, the PMK founder said it was Manian’s right to express his own opinion.

Dr Ramadoss, however, refused to categorically deny the possibility of the PMK aligning with the actor, whom he had once derided. When asked if he will hold talks with the actor, he retorted, “If that’s what you (media) say, we will think about it,” adding that no talks had taken place between the two so far.

Rajini, had on the eve of 2018 New Year, confirmed his political entry and said he would form his own party and would contest all the 234-Assembly seats in the next elections due in May 2021. Though he chose to stay away from the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and the recent civic polls to the rural local bodies in the state, the actor kept the momentum going by issuing statements on various issues.
