Missing girl found dead in Sivakasi

Police said the girl, who was studying in Class 4 in a local school, had gone out to graze the goat at a farm, belonging to their relative, along with her older sister.

She left her sister after a quarrel between them and reportedly walked towards the house. But, she did not return to the house.

The family members along with their relatives searched for her. However, they could not trace the girl.

A complaint was lodged with Malli police on Saturday night. Over 100 police men, led by the Additional Superintendent of Police, S Marisamy, conducted a massive search to trace the girl.

Meanwhile, the body of the missing girl was found floating in the farm well. The police removed the body to Sivakasi government hospital for a post-mortem. Investigations were on to ascertain how the girl fell into the well.  

The cause of her death would be known, after the post-mortem the police added.
