Docs bribed: IMA seeks PMO reply

Indian Medical Association seeks clarification from the Prime Minister’s office on the statement made by Prime Minister that top pharmaceutical companies bribed doctors with women. It also asked State Medical Council to take account of the statement and initiate required investigations if reported.

The Tamil Nadu Medical Council authorities said that there have been no reports of such cases in the State. The officials from the State Medical Council said that they have not received any such complaints from the government or any other authorities regarding any pharmaceutical companies and doctors asking for women as favours.


The Council had demanded the government for the details of the pharmaceutical companies involved in supplying women to doctors and such issue should have been communicated to the medical council.
