Speaking at the Regional Conference of the Ministers of Labour and Employment in Kochi, Kerala, a copy of which was released to the media here, Kandasmay expressed happiness that the Ministry of Labour and Employment has brought in two social security schemes for the benefit of unorganised labourers and small traders namely Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana and National Pension scheme for the traders.
He said the government here is keen to implement both schemes as 50 per cent of the share is being borne by the government and it will ensure a secured pension. The government is verifying the genuineness of members of Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board so that bulk enrollment can be done under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana.
