“When the opposition parties, including DMK raised objection over ward delimitation and submitted petitions to the ward delimitation committee, the objections were not considered. The Chief Minister was waiting for anyone to move the court against the local body elections announcement and when the DMK did, he is criticising our leader,” said Bharathi, in a statement.

Recently, the Chief Minister blamed Stalin and DMK for approaching the Supreme Court to seek ban on the notification rolled out to conduct local body elections by stating thatthe DMK fears facing electionsand so is seeking ban on localbody elections.

However, the DMK reacted strongly to the comments of the Chief Minister by stating that the state government worked with an intention to create confusion with delimitation. “The new districts were formed with the sole intention of creating chaos. The state government has not released a Government Order (GO) on reservation of seats and is continuing to create confusion,” said Bharathi.

With confusions piling around, the state government is claiming that it will conduct elections to local bodies. When the DMK criticised the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission (TNSEC) and Election Commissioner R Palanisamy, Chief Minister Palaniswami is reacting for to it.

The Chief Minister, who has created several confusions with the intention of postponing the elections to local bodies in the last three years should stop accusing Stalin, who is working with the aim of conducting elections to local bodies in a Constitutionally approved manner, said Bharathi.
