The Federation for Peoples Rights (FPR) here on Sunday urged for the intervention of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in order to provide free house site pattas to the scheduled tribe families residing at Perumal Puram,Villinaur here.

FPR secretary G Sugumaran in a statement said that in a memorandum sent to the Bihar Human Rights Commission (BHRC), he had pointed out that the scheduled tribe people were living at Perumalpuram for the past 25 years and the 24 families got all documents including ration cards, Aadhaar cards,Voter ID and power and water supply connections.


In 2011, the Land and Survey Department had sent a letter to the Villinaur commune panchayat commissioner seeking to transfer the land where the scheduled tribe people are living to the Land and Survey Department for the purpose of providing free house site pattas. However, nothing has been materialised yet, he added.


He also forwarded the memorandum to the Lt Governor, Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, revenue ministeramong others.
