    Single website, e-payment gateway planned for all govt services

    To ensure hassle-free services to public, the state government has decided to go on a single platform to provide various services.According to officials of Information Technology Department, “Government is planning to bring all the services such as payments, sending SMS, websites and apps under single unified platform to ease the use of government services by the public.

    Government is also planning to provide e-mail IDs for all the government employees across the state.”

    The officials also said that at present people are using government services through various government websites and to login in into these websites people have to use different usernames and passwords. Remembering passwords becomes a difficult task for the public and there were several complaints and suggestions to improve the delivery of services.


    “To reduce the problems associated with using different government websites and the problem of logins before availing the services of the government, the state has decided to bring all the services on a single platform. A single unified website would be created for public to access all the government services at a single place and Rs 50 lakh had been allotted for developing the website,” said the officials.


    The officials also said that the government is also planning for a single e-payment gateway. “State government is giving great impetus to e-payment and so all the government departments had to be equipped for providing e-payment services. Tamil Nadu e-Governance agency (TNeGA) will develop a unified e-payment platform to payment to avail various government services.”


    Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), National Electronics Fund Transfer (NEFT), net banking, e-wallets, UPI, mobile banking and so on will be integrated with the unified payment platform for the ease of public. The unified payment platform will be developed securely by the state government and Rs 1.6 crore had been earmarked for the purpose, said the officials.


    The officials further said that government is planning to provide individual mail IDs for all the government employees. “More than 10 lakh government officials will now get an individual mail ID of their choice. The domain will be tn.gov.in and the username will precede the domain name,” said the officials.


    The state government is also planning to provide single SMS gateway and a single mobile application for the ease of public.
