Vaiko met Prime Minister Modi
MDMK general secretary Vaiko met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his office.

Vaiko presented the Prime Minister with Kancheepuram silk shawl, Thirukural book with G U Pope, Drew, John Lazarus translations when he met him in the Prime Minister’s office.
He requested that thirukkural be announced as national book. He also submitted a petition with his requests, which are:
To protect the budding business of handmade dress, knitting.
To drop Neutrino plan.
To not impose the Dam safety bill.
The nuclear wastes not to be dumped in Koodangulam.
Hydrocarbon plan not to be implemented as it promises drought.
He stated that if the Megathathu dam is built in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu will face water crisis which will affect the future generations.
He has also mentioned that repealing of article 370, 35A can be dangerous.
Prime Minister Modi listened to him very carefully and patiently.
