Thoothukudi JE in soup as smart city files missing
A junior engineer with the Thoothukudi Corporation was reportedly suspended after key documents pertaining to the ‘Smart City Mission’ allegedly went missing, sources said on Saturday.

With the city earmarked under the Centre’s ‘Smart City Mission’, 23 key files of the project were found missing recently, leading to the engineer’s suspension over dereliction of duty, sources said. However, Corporation Commissioner VP Jayaseelan, when contacted, denied the incident, saying the junior engineer was rather suspended for other reasons, and that it was no way connected to the missing ‘Smart City Mission’ files.
