TN a top performer in health indices: CM

In a function, the Chief Minister said, “Tamil Nadu is a model state, in providing high quality health care services and making available excellent human resources and infrastructure. The state has pioneered landmark schemes and the state has been ranked among the top three states in India, in the ‘Healthy State Progressive India’ report brought out by the NITI Aayog.”

He also said that due to investment by the state, there are high quality doctors and medical professionals in the state, which resulted in excellent medical facilities and institutions in Tamil Nadu. The MGM multi-speciality hospital will be an important addition to the world class medical facilities available in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, he added.

“The hospital will offer a wide range of quality health services to the citizens of Tamil Nadu and also cater to patients from different parts of the country and will support our effort to promote Tamil Nadu as a leading healthcare tourism destination, in the world,” said Palaniswami.

He further said that the state government is following the footsteps of the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, in implementing quality health care to the people of the state.

He also appreciated Vice President Venkaiah Naidu for continuously supporting the state’s causes and being a voice for the state in Delhi. Ministers from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and hospital authorities were present at the inauguration function.
