CM announces 3 new law colleges
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday announced that three new law colleges will be set up in the state at a cost of Rs 9.52 crore.

Making a statement under Rule 110 in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said a special officer would be appointed to begin work at the earliest and oversee the construction of each college. He also made a slew of announcements for various departments.
The Chief Minister said to give more space to the sub-courts functioning at the High Court premises, a multi-storeyed building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 202.40 crore. He said roads and bridges that were damaged during the Cyclone Gaja will be re-laid at a cost of Rs 200.53 crore.
Apart from this 1,200 crore will be allotted this year to upgrade panchayat roads, Palaniswami said. He also announced that 10,000 checkdams will be constructed at a cost of Rs 312 crore and the works would be carried out by the MGNREGA workers.
