Kovai ryots seek relief from IAF
Farmers, on whose land the drop tank fell, sought the IAF to compensate the loss they incurred to their crops and convert the land fertile again.

“As a huge quantity of petrol has spread on the land, the soil is no longer fertile. It has to be scooped out and new soil should be leveled before farming activities is carried out again. Also, some crops were damaged. So the IAF should compensate for the loss,” said Nanda Kumar, a farmer. The IAF officials assured that farmers that they would take up the issue with senior officers and do the needful. On receiving information from villagers, the local police and VAO rushed to the spot and held anexamination.
