    TN has adequate power supply: Thangamani

    State Electricity Minister P Thangamani on Sunday ruled out any power outage occurring due to the shortage of electricity supply in Tamil Nadu.

    “Tamil Nadu has adequate power suuply. In some places, power outage is happening due to disruptions caused by nature. As far as Chennai is concerned, power outage is reported in some pockets due to several ongoing works of the Corporation. The cables get damaged during such works but they are rectified immediately,” he said to media after inaugurating the trial run of 230/110 kW sub-station in Krishnagiri on Sunday.


    The Minister said that after the trial run, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will inaugurate the sub-station in two weeks. “The first high tension 110 kW sub-station was set up in Tiruchy on 18 April, 1905. In the last 114 years, 999 high tension sub-stations have been installed and this will be the 1000th one,” he said.


    Thangamani gave credit to Tangedco officials and workers by pointing out that the State has been receiving uninterrupted power supply because of their work stretching through day and night. Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan was alsopresent.
